Important Flu Update
While the news media may sensationalize reports of the N1H1 strain of influenza, or "swine flu," it's important to understand how you can help keep yourself healthy.
Dangers of the flu
Most of us know the common symptoms of the flu, including fever, fatigue, cough, sore throat, runny nose and headache. Influenza also weakens the immune system, making the body more susceptible to other diseases such as pneumonia.
Those most vulnerable to infections are individuals with compromised immune systems, including:
- Seniors
- People under great stress
- People with a poor diet
- Individuals with chronic health conditions
Prevention
Dr. Anne Kelly, MD, recommends a particular "recipe" for a healthy immune system.
- Eating more fruits and vegitables
- Taking at least 1tsp of Immuno-Viva Core each day
- Including a probiotic product to support digestive health
Dr. Kelly's recipe includes only items that have been scientifically proven to help the body fight viral infections. She adds that she has seen great results with this method through her own pediatrics practice.
